Temporary Closure of Lancaster Street at Central Avenue

Lancaster Street closure expected to begin on or about July 11, 2016

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of Lancaster Street in Fells Point will soon close for construction work.

Starting on or about July 11, 2016, Lancaster Street between Central Avenue and Eden Street will be closed for pre-construction investigations as part of the Central Avenue Streetscape and Harbor Point Connector Bridge Project.  The Promenade will also be closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic in this area.

Traffic and pedestrian access will be maintained on Lancaster Street to the west of Central Avenue. Central Avenue will also be available for north and southbound traffic.  Local access will be allowed via Eden Street for area residents and businesses.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.  Commuters should consider using Aliceanna Street as an alternate route. Directional signage will be posted to direct motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through the area.

This portion of Lancaster Street is expected to remain closed to traffic for approximately four weeks, weather permitting.
